At our Oak Park facility (3333 Third Avenue, Sacramento CA 95817) groups receive a facility tour and are placed in the Clothing program (sorting and distributing clothing to clients). Groups (can accommodate up to 15) typically arrive at SFBFS at 9:00am on a weekday, take a tour, and then volunteer for 2-5 hours.
Food distributions(12 offsite locations) are how we provide emergency groceries and nutrition education to families in need. They are farmer’s market style distributions that take place at offsite locations (church, school or community center parking lots) in North Sacramento and Oak Park. (Can accommodate up to 20)
At our Distribution Center (1951 Bell Ave, Sacramento CA 95838) groups are needed to sort and bag food for our food distributions and partner agencies. Groups will arrive at 9am, take a brief tour and volunteer until 1pm. (can accommodate up to 50)
