Parent Education
Effective January 2012, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) will open the new Parent Education program. Parent Education replaces the Mother-Baby program, which was sunset on November 17, 2011. The new Parent Education program offers free, family-related courses on topics such as nurturing parenting, positive discipline techniques, budgeting, health, nutrition, stress management, school readiness, play groups and more.
Parents and guardians interested in Parent Education must attend an orientation to register for the program. Pleasea visit the Client Calendar or call (916) 313-7622 for upcoming orientation dates and times.
Parents who attend courses will earn creditsupon the completion of each course. Credits may be traded in for infant and toddler supplies for children 0 – 5 years of age. Courses will also be offered for families with school-aged children.

ELIGIBILITY Parent Education is open to expectant parents, parents and guardians of children 0-5 years of age living in the greater Sacramento area. An orientation is required prior to participating in the program. Please call (916) 313-7622 for current orientation dates and times. Families are invited to participate in courses at both SFBFS locations. Please bring your photo ID, current proof address and birth certificate for all children ages 0-5 years old and/or your proof of pregnancy.
