Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services’ Food for Seniors program provides healthy, nutritious food access to our senior population in Sacramento County. Seniors face a number of unique medical and mobility challenges that put them at a greater risk for food insecurity. Many of these individuals are forced to choose between paying for groceries and buying other necessities, including medication.

Food for Seniors creates access to food through distributions at senior housing complexes and local community centers. Seniors can supplement their monthly food budget with fresh produce and basic stables, which allows them to purchase other essentials.

As the population of individuals over age 60 continues to grow, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services continues to develop innovative ideas to get food to seniors in need.
