Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is committed to helping families in need. The organization cannot provide all services, so it is important to know about other resources in our community. Here are four significant sources of information you should become familiar with:

2-1-1 – Infoline provides referrals to more than 2,400 community services in the Sacramento area, including: employment and training, housing information, financial assistance, children’s services, senior services, food programs, health care services and more. 2-1-1 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can provide assistance in many languages. http://www.211sacramento.org

Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA) - This joint effort of the City and County of Sacramento specializes in connecting people to jobs, business owners to quality employees, education and nutrition to children and assistance to refugees. www.seta.net

Francis House - This counseling and resource center for homeless individuals and families features caring volunteers and counselors who specialize in assisting those in crisis situations. www.francishouse.info

CalFresh - This program, formerly known as Food Stamps and federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), can add to your food budget to put healthy and nutritious food on the table. The program issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy most foods at many markets, food stores and some farmers’ markets. The CalFresh Program helps to improve the health and well-being of qualified households and individuals by providing them a means to meet their nutritional needs. Basic eligibility click here.
